Frequently Asked Questions

I'm Not Sure What I Need For My 3D HDTV, Can You Help Me? - Absolutely! That's why we're here, just give us a call at (800) 918-5390 (M-F 8am to 5pm ET, excluding holidays).

Can I use DLP-Link Glasses with my IR Emitter & IR 3D Glasses? - No, you cannot use DLP and Active Shutter (w/ IR Emitter) at the same time for Mitsubishi & Samsung DLP 3D Ready HDTV's, but you can with our HIGH powered IR Emitter. Read about our High Power Emitter.

What are better DLP-Link Glasses or IR Glasses? - Both types have pros and cons. Most say that when using DLP-Link the screen is brighter but DLP-Link loses sync more easily than IR, there is a rainbow effect that occurs with DLP-Link and you have to deal with setting the polarity each time you use DLP-Link. Because of that, most (about 80%) of people would rather go with IR over DLP-Link. NOTE: the way to overcome the brightness issue with active shutter is to adjust the TV's brightness and/or contrast.

What glasses will work with my Mitsubishi or Samsung DLP 3D Ready HDTV? - You can use DLP-Link 3D Glasses or you can use IR 3D Glasses but with IR 3D glasses you will need to first purchase an IR Emitter to use them.

What is the difference between an IR Emitter and Adapter for Mitsubishi and Samsung DLP 3D Ready HDTV's? -  An IR Emitter is what you will use to communicate between the TV and the IR 3D Glasses. Without an emitter you'll have to use DLP-Link 3D Glasses. As for the Adapter it is used to take your content source (e.g. Blu-ray Player, SONY PS3, Cable Box, etc.) and convert it into the "Checkerboard" format that Mitsubishi and Samsung require to play 3D content.

Do All Mitsubishi DLP 3D Ready HDTV's require an Adapter to convert the content into checkerboard? - No, some of the 2010 Mitsubishi DLP HDTV models offer a firmware upgrade that will let you use the other formats. The 2011 models ship from the factory not needing any adapter or firmware upgrade.

Does Samsung have an Adapter to convert content into "Checkerboard" format? - Yes, however Mitsubishi manufacturers it and came out with an adapter in their 3DC-100S Starter Kit for $450. Please read this article, click here .

I just want a Mitsubishi IR Emitter, what do I do? - Right now Mitsubishi does not sell just their IR Emitter by itself. However, we offer a standalone high power emitter.

Will I receive a discount on multiple orders of 3D glasses? No, with our special rebate we have dropped the price of our Blick compatible 3d glasses to their rock bottom price.
